Pamela Podemski is a self-taught artist and California native who fell in love with painting at the age of nine. Nonetheless, having lived and traveled in over 50 different countries, Podemski considers herself to be a citizen of the world. She is a polyglot, fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Farsi and English. So it is no surprise that Podemski's works focus on far-flung destinations and the rich cultures of native peoples. Her paintings range from romantic Wedding Venues in California to simple scenes from distant countries  (elephant trainers and children from Village Tribes in Northern Thailand, local villagers in Bhuj, India).  The artist attempts to show us a “slice of life” from a quiet, peaceful world that is rapidly being replaced by the stresses of modern life.
